I woke up yesterday morning to the most beautiful snowfall! Above is my edited version of the original photo, which you can see below. I enhanced the saturation, and added a parchment filter layer on top, using the "multiply" layer style, I think. What's interesting to me is that the feeling
I got yesterday when I was looking out my window was the feeling I get when I look at my doctored photo. It truly was that beautiful and ethereal with the morning sun just peeking at the tips of those trees. My basic photo just doesn't cut it.
I played around with some other filters and brushes to make a fantasy type scene too:
This one's just a little paler:
Be sure to click to see the larger versions...it makes all the difference. Tell me if you prefer the raw photography, or my altered versions....I'd be interested to hear your opinions!
This next one is my before looking out my kitchen window....you saw this view just a few weeks ago in its autumn glory:
...and here I've cropped it and filtered it a bit for your enjoyment. :)
Um...have I mentioned lately how much I love my Photoshop? :) Now I just need Photoshop Elements 8.0 and Elements Premier 8. Anybody looking for a Christmas idea for me? *snicker*

All are beautiful...I like your Photoshop version at the top and I love the woods at the bottom.

Your creative spirit is unleashed in so many wonderful ways, Sharon! I really admire that gift that you have. For me, I prefer the unedited version of the pasture, but I understand that what you actually saw was more like the edited version. The camera's view often different than the natural eye. The edited version reminds me too much of the fires we get out here, with the red backlit trees. Did you add the moon in the edited versions? Gorgeous!
I'm sure the romantic "vision" in my head is a lot different than the reality of the scene as well, Rose. I can only interpret what I "see" I guess! I like my unretouched versions as well--just not as much! And yes, I added the moon AND the birds to the PS'd pics. :)
I really like your doctored photos as art, but like Rose, I prefer the real one.
Your view is gorgeous!
OMG Carol that pic of you cracks me up this year just as much as it did last year. Too funny. THanks for weighing in! Hey, how's that bathroom coming? I need to go check out your progress!
Gorgeous Sharona! We had a dusting on Friday night...and I do mean a dusting. So disappointing...I love snow!
