This was Saturday's find at Goodwill in Hudson, NY. $4.99. What the heck All Star is supposed to mean, I'll never know. And I don't care. I'm paintin' it!
When I bought my house and showed pictures of it to my (invisible) friends, my buddy Sally (Sal-pal) from Alabama told me it needed a name. And she said it as if that was the FIRST thing I should have thought of, too. Well, I had never HAD a place to name before, but I think I did OK with this one. "Wood" is the name of the road I live on, and I'm at the end, so....the name sort of wrote itself, don't you think?
I broke out the paints yesterday and went to town. I even painted my name on my mailbox (after painting OVER the previous owner's name). Now it's MY house. :)

Love it Sharon! That is a great green.
Love it! Great job, great house!
Awesome job and so cute!
And here I thought you were getting all country kitchy on us with the blue ALL STAR sign!
Fabulous re-use for an adorable little Woods End cottage!!
Sal should be proud...may she rest in peace.
;~P
Delightful! I love the green you chose to paint the sign. What is the name of that color. The name is perfect too. Your name on the mail box...yep its all yours now!
Wood's End Cottage - I think your house told you what it wanted to be called and you just paid attention. So perfect. Great choice. A-dor-a-ble sign! (You had me confused for a moment with that un-Sharonlike "All Star.) LOL!)
Your house has a name! Don't tell mine, it will get jealous at being still Lyle Shinkle's old house. But then he owned it for 64 years, so I guess maybe it's natural they are so connected.
If this posts twice - i'm sorry! What i said is that i love the transformation of this sign - it's PERFECT for your house. I love your pics - it always looks so peaceful.
Brilliant! I love it!
Big :-). I love it!
Thanks, ladies! Kat, that green is just one of my hundreds of craft paints, mixed with some white here and there....you can see the variation in color. I'm silly like that--mix as I go. :)
Linda, I'm LOLing at your "rest in peace" for Sally. Where the heck IS that girl, anyway? Doing her kids' homework or what?
Somehow I knew you were one of those people. You know the ones Im talking about. Who can take leftover paint and create lovely colors. Not me...I end up with sludge!
That is adorable! What a perfect name for your new house. I think I should name ours. We could call it Dust Bunny Ranch if I don't get off this PC. lol
Well, that's it. With all the free time I've got as a newly-single man (deep breaths, girls...still not available), I'll have to drive out to Provincetown and get you a nice photograph of Wood's End lighthouse.
What's the name of that green?
That is so great! Love the name and the sign! :)
