Lazy Sunday

Did you ever just have one of those days? The sun is shining through my windows, and it's colder than a....well...it's COLD outside today...and I have Romantic Country magazine, the "Bedrooms" edition...and I've been lounging about in my giant bed, reading, and surfing blogs all morning. What you all may not understand, is that I have SO much work that I should be doing right now, so the guilt is getting to me a little bit. The good news is, Kathleen has a playdate tomorrow, so I'll be working double time tomorrow. Does that assuage my guilt? Eh. Only a little.

I think what threw me off is that I had to bring BF to the airport this morning at 4am (AGAIN--please tell me WHY his company insists on these ridiculously early tickets?! Does noone think of ME--the poor schlub who has to drive him to Albany?! Argh). He's headed to Washington for 10 days to install a big job (indoor water park) at the new (opening soon!) Great Wolf Lodge in Grand Mound, which is about halfway between Portland and Seattle. One if these days I'm going to tag along on one of these jobs. He keeps insisting that it's not a vacation--that it's nothing but WORK WORK WORK, but what he fails to realize is that if I went, it would be a vacation for ME! Ha! He can work all he wants, and I'LL go see the sights. Right?! Sometimes he just fails to find me amusing. So, here I am, enjoying my solitude, and enjoying all the surfing and reading. I'm sure I'll eventually emerge from under the covers and get something done--like all the piles of laundry, and the sewing that's piling up by the job. Maybe. Here's to all of you out there who are surfing blogs and happened by mine this morning. Enjoy your lazy Sunday!

Any show houses in the works for you yet this year? I'm procrastinating today too. I'm thinking my NY guests have left their weather here in SC by mistake. Frozen pipes earlier this week and it snowed AGAIN yesterday. Freezing my buns off down here today, but we do have SUN.

Sharon, how does one have those things on the wall behind the bed without them clunking down on your head in the middle of the night? The curtains without a headboard? Do you staple it every three inches to the wall? I can see me waking up looking like a mummy. :-\ It's a gift, I guess.

Oh, my dear Suzette...perhaps I'm not as RANDY as you in the sack?! Ha! Seriously, I have to straighten the sheers once in a while, but it's not too bad. It's certainly not ideal, but hey, I went from a full sized bed to a king--no headboard yet! And I bet those sheers are what made you think Showhouse, aren't they?! Well, I'm not doing a room this year, but I am working on a simple website for them. That's my contribution this year. I have the first page up. The link is over there on the left under Vanguard Showhouse.

Hi Kim! Thanks for stopping by, chica...glad to see there are others out there having lazy days. I guess we can all be thankful we're not Suzette this weekend. Frozen pipes...ugh.

That's YOUR bed? Your room? I love it! Let's see more! Show us the tidy side! ;-) I honestly thought it was from one of the mags you were reading. This headboard treatment is very different than what you had before. You've been very busy in the bedroom. ...snort!...

Sharon, what a lovely HAND JOB on the tester! hee! Sorry, but those RANDY comments got me sidetracked!

Seriously...GORGEOUS bedroom! I can see why you were lazing around on Sunday! And I do the same thing. Sometimes I just get overwhelmed and need to go escape for a few hours and be lazy!

Uh, hi. Totally random comment here. I ran into your blog by Googling "Grand Mound Waterpark" because my kids are bugging the HECK out of me, asking when this place will be opening. It's being built right along the Interstate and we watch the stages of construction with great anticipation every time we head south to our Grandma's house...

Too funny that you're W-A-Y across the country and your hubby's working on this place!

Oh, and the rest of your blog? LOVE IT, 'specially the darling kitties!!!
