Shipping Pallet Plate Rack

For the last month or two, BF has been bringing home shipping pallet wood from work, to burn in the outdoor fireplace. It's been nice. They use these pallets all the time, then break them down to get rid of them. Then last week he came home with a whole one, undamaged. SO.....my mind went racing....and then I let my fingers do the walking right on over to Google...and would you look what I found?!
How cool is that? I love it! BF thinks it's too rustic, and weird. But I think it's the most clever thing EVER. I even love the bent up rusty nails, holding the plates in. Am I crazy?
I have no place to put such a thing in MY house...but I could always gift it to someone. It might even look cool painted...whitewashed...or even black. What do you think?

I think it could work in the right setting. The photos you found look nice.
I don't think I would care for one, so you can choose a different gift for me. :)

LOVE it! Honestly, I LOVE it! It could be a plate rack as you found, or hanging in or on a garden shed or garden potting area for storage and/or display. The possibilities are endless . . . and you can use it SOMEWHERE around your place. I know it. I feel it. Seriously. And I wouldn't whitewash it or paint it or anything . . . it's perfect as is. IF it's the pale, pale, pale wood that some of the "new" pallets are these days you might brush a darker stain on it to give it some depth, but other than that? Perfection as is.

That's a really cute idea, Sharon! Good way to recycle and that rustic look is all the rage now.

Thanks for stopping by & I hope you'll use that candle idea. Everyone loved how simple it was. I'm doing a little post about it soon.

Very cool! A great statement piece in the right place to display a special collection, maybe pretty dessert plates or favorite platters.

Great minds...I found a pallette that had washed ashore on the ocean...didn't bring it home...but did check out her plate rack idea too.

Ohh...Linda, I bet the ocean-drifted pallet had a great driftwood quality to it! You should have brought it home! I'm really liking Diane's idea of using it outdoors, too. It could work over a potting bench. Hmm...food for thought!

Carol, I'll just erase that from your Christmas list, then, OK? ;) Rhoda, thanks for stopping over! I'll be on the lookout for your candle post. I bought cranberries yesterday in anticipation of using them!

Rose and Sally, thanks, as always, for stopping by and commenting. You guys are cool. ((((y'all))))
